Our boarders affectionately call Hoolibuns "bun camp."
We created a boarding experience that is enriching, nurturing and fun for rabbits, while providing peace of mind for bun parents.
Your buns are in great hands with Shannon. She has 30+ years of experience with bunnies, including special needs, and is the creator of the "bunny-centric" methodology.
We are a House Rabbit Society recommended boarder located in a quiet Oakland neighborhood next to Mills College.

Most dates sell out a few months in advance, with dates around Thanksgiving and Christmas/NYE typically selling out up to six months in advance.
Unlike hotel reservations, bunny boarding is rarely used for last-minute needs; hence, demand to book far in advance, as we are not able to rebook cancelled reservations once we have turned people away, as they have already made other arrangements for their rabbits.
Yes, you are welcome to add yourself to the wait list for sold out dates. Please note that cancellations are extremely rare. If a spot opens up, we will reach out.
Hoolibuns is located in a quiet Oakland neighborhood next to Mills College supporting clients across San Francisco Bay Area counties including: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
This is a private home and for health purposes, we do not permit public access inside.
Yes, we accept unaltered rabbits however, unaltered buns often choose to not use a litter box thus, you may incur a small fee for additional pen cleanings/laundry to ensure their areas are kept clean and dry. Read more about the importance of fixing your rabbit.
We like to keep it diverse with our seasonal greens. Common offerings include: Cilantro, Parsley, Kale, Dandelion Greens, Romaine, and Mixed Greens.
Yes, if your rabbit(s) eat pellets other than Oxbow or Science Selective adult pellets please bring them. Rabbits should not change pellets suddenly so it is best not to switch them while here.
If your rabbit(s) have a restricted or different greens diets, please let us know in advance and bring your preferred greens to supplement our offerings. We can only provide customized feeding times for buns requiring this for health reasons.
Absolutely. We are familiar with most medicine administrations and we can also support supplement regimens on a provided schedule.
We provide all of the essentials for your rabbit(s) stay but you are welcome to bring things such as chew toys, a small hidey, stuffed animals etc. (things that can easily fit in an x-pen). Due to safety and hygiene protocols, we are not able to provide toys other than an occasional box fort. All pens, by default, have tops as buns often get curious in a new setting and some buns are naturally jumpers/escape artists.
We take the health and hygiene of rabbits here very seriously.
